Here are some of our babies and a little about them. We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoy showing them to you!
Green-Cheek Conures (Pyrrhura Molinae)
The Green-Cheek Conure is one of the smaller conures. They are approximately 9 1/2 inches from head to tip of tail. They have a life span of about 25 years. The Green Cheek Conure is an excellent "first" bird. They are excellent pets for children as well as adults
of all ages. The Green Cheek Conure makes a great apartment or condominium bird. They come in various colors such as the Normal Green Cheek Conure; mutations such as the Pineapple Green Cheek Conure, Yellow-sided Green Cheek Conure, Cinnamon Green
Cheek Conure, Turquoise Green Cheek, Pineapple Turquoise Green Cheek, Yellow-sided
Turquoise Green Cheek, and the Cinnamon Turquoise Green Cheek which have received
their coloring through breeding.
Whether male or female green cheek conures, these birds are very affectionate and they tend to thrive on their owner's attention. They will always acknowledge your entrance into the room. They adapt to training very quickly such as lie on their back in your hand and tricks taught with clickers as demonstrated in the video located within the Green Cheek
Conure nursery. They also love to cuddle, as you can see from the above picture of Piney
sleeping on her owner's neck.
They have a very high actively level. They need a lot of toys and attention to keep them satisfied and they love to take bathes! I always advise buyers to never purchase a cuddly or bed of any kind as you want your baby to bond to you and not become territorial.
Food: We feed our loveable Green Cheek Conure babies Zupreme Pellets - Small (Cockatiel size), and Egg Food (without any coloring or bugs) on a daily basis along with fresh organic vegetables and fruit. They also love a treat of millet, which I recommend very sparingly. Other treats consist of Sunburst Fruits & Veggies mix which has died fruits, nuts, and veggies and Homemade Birdie
Bread. You can find the recipe for my Homemade Birdie Bread on the Helpful
Hints Page. They also have cuddlebone in their playpen, not calcium block. All
my babies are trained to drink from a water bottle.
Caging: Green Cheek Conures are extremely playful and energetic so you will need a cage that can give them plenty of space for activity. I have my own pets in a 18 by 28 cage. They are also very inquisitive little fellows, so be sure you get a cage with bars that are no farther apart than 1/2 inch so they don't harm themselves.
Noise: The Green Cheek Conure is a very good bird for an apartment or condominium. In our experience with raising these precious little ones, we have found that Pineapple Green Cheeks are the quiestest. Next in line would be the Normal
Green Cheek. then Turquoise Green Cheek, Cinnamon Green Cheek, and last the Yellow-sided being the noisest. The noise level between the different birds also varies according to personality. Like children, they all have their own
personalities, likes, and dislikes.
Nurseries: Below you will see a section on each of the varieties of Conures showing availabily. Pictures are posted of each variety on the "Conure Page".
Adults/Breeders: Below you will see a section on any adult birds and/or breeders
that are available for sale. Any birds in this section can be young
DNA'd birds or proven breeders. Reasons for selling these birds
could be needing a different gender or because I am making room
for a different type of bird. I believe honesty is the best policy so I
will alway give you complete and acurate information on any bird
Turquoise Green Cheek Conure
This is a Turquoise Green Cheek Conure
which is a mutation within the Green Cheek
family. These birds have a beautiful blue-green
turquoise upperbody feathering. The feathering
on their belly and tail are gray. Their feet and
head are dark with turquoise coloring on their
cheeks. They also have the white ring around
their bright black eyes which is common to
the Green Cheek Conure family.
In the mutation Turquoise group, you can find the Pineapple Turquoise, Cinnamon Turquoise, and the Yellow-sided Turquoise. The colorings of these Turquoise mutations have added a spice of the the colors associated with either the Pineapple, Cinnamon, or Yellow-sided Green Cheeks. This makes for very beautiful mutations.
Just like all the rest of the family types of Green Cheek Conures, these beautiful birds can be very active and playful little ones. They are extremely gentle and cuddly. The also are one of the quieter Green Cheek Conures.
Please check the various nursery listings below to see the coloring and price of each mutation.

This is a Sun Conure. A Sun Conure is a beautifully
bright and colorful bird. Their plumage consists of
forest green, yellow, orange, and red. These colors
differ between each bird with some Sun Conures
having more yellow and some having more red.
These colors become more enhanced with each
molting in the first and second years of life. The
Sun Conure's beak is dark along with their feet
and are about 12 inches from the tip of the head
to the end of the tail. Sun Conures have a life
span of about 25 years.
The Sun Conure is a great family bird as they will
love and play with everyone in the family, adults
and children alike. These beautiful birds thrive
with attention. They will greet you in the morning
with kisses and want to share your breakfast and
save their affections for you until you come home
in the evening. Their personalities never stop. As
with all birds, they will compete with their environ-
ment, therefore, if their environment is loud, the Sun
Conure will be louder. They are not considered to be
a good apartment bird.
